Rehabilitation works on Linden-Lethem road link ongoing

REHABILITATION works are ongoing on the Linden-Lethem road, which at the moment is passable in spite of the weather conditions. This is according to an engineer from the Public Works Ministry’s Work Services Group (WSG). Four maintenance contracts are currently being executed along the Linden-Lethem area; they are expected to be completed by the end of June.
Moreover, MMC and BK. International are mobilised in the area, conducting additional repairs.

Work needs to be done in the Iwokrama concession on sections of bad patches; and from Siparuni to Kurupukari, as this area is experiencing torrential rainfall.
Rehabilitation of the Linden-Lethem road is part of government’s Hinterland Road Project, and is seen as a vital link to foster closer relations with neighbouring Brazil, while simultaneously boosting economic activities.
Rehabilitation and construction are being executed in three stages by MMC, B.K. International and Dipcon Engineering.   (GINA)
