Clinton Urling new Georgetown Chambers of Commerce & Industry Limited President

THE Georgetown Chambers of Commerce and Industry Limited (GCCI) voted in a new executive body in elections held yesterday at the Chamber’s Waterloo Street, Cummingsburg location in Georgetown. This new executive body is headed by its youngest member and new President, Mr. Clinton Urling. Mr. Lance Hinds will now serve as the Chambers’ senior vice -president, Mr. Sean Rambertan as junior vice president, Ms. Colleen Patterson as treasurer and Ms. Molly Hassan as secretary.
During a media briefing held immediately after the elections, executive members collectively pledged to address priority issues, and face the challenges ahead through strengthening partnerships, in keeping with the GCCI’s non-partisan role.
In addition, the GCCI’s incumbent president noted that, under his leadership, the GCCI will continue along its present developmental path.
He said, “Over the past years, the chamber has made remarkable achievements in terms of growth and development, and this is something we will continue.”
Alluding to the immediate focal areas, Urling pledged to continue building on the foundation of serving the membership, and said that decisions made will reflect the interest of the collective body.
He announced that, within a few weeks, the GCCI work plan would be revealed, and he also assured that the GCCI would continue to work closely with the Private Sector Commission (PSC).
Urling paid homage to outgoing President, Komal Ramnauth, for his astute leadership over the past two years.
“Komal Ramnauth has given two years of tremendous leadership and guidance to the Chamber, and we look forward to continuing in the same vein, and surpassing some of the achievements made under his tenure,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ramnauth expressed confidence that the new executive body would continue to lead the GCCI in its strategic developmental plan.
