‘Seedy’ jailed, fined for stealing dry coconuts

FORTY-two-year-old   Audrick Miller alias ‘Seedy’ was sentenced to three months imprisonment by Magistrate Roby Benn, last Thursday, for stealing 39 dry coconuts.
In addition to the prison sentence, imposed at the Fort Wellington court,  West Coast Berbice, the prisoner was fined  $10,000.
The convict admitted that, on April 2, he went to the  cultivation plot owned by businessman Cecil Mohabir, at Plantation Foulis, another West Coast Berbice village, collected and peeled the fallen nuts and put them in a bag.
The thief was seen by an onlooker who, after alerting the owner, informed the police who arrested the unemployed Miller, of no fixed place of abode. (Jeune Bailey Vankeric)
