‘Dialogue’ fashions a huge hit with working women

ALTHOUGH the three-hour-long event had been in progress for barely 15 minutes when we arrived, some of the many professional women milling about the “Dialogue” fashion showroom already had selections slung over their arms. The event, held at the Georgetown Cricket Club, is targeting a much ignored area in Guyana’s fashion industry — affordable, stylish and high quality business wear for women.
Young female entrepreneurs Venita Khan and Maria Monroe, the brains behind Dialogue, were in the thick of things, busily interacting with customers and living up to their claim of selling experience.
This was the duo’s first public event; they had kept three similar ones in a six-month period, but attendance to those had been by ‘invitation only’. As with the private events, drinks and finger food were in attendance.
The organisers aim to make shopping a luxurious and pleasant experience comparable to that of attending an elegant cocktail event.

Among the featured items were tailored dresses, skirts, trousers, blouses, shirts, jackets, underwear, shoes, bags, costume jewellery and fragrances for the perfect finishing touch.
All prices were affordable, and the women — who were of all ages, shapes and sizes — certainly appeared to have no complaints.
The organisers are currently planning to bring the showroom on a monthly basis.
More information on the next showroom can be obtained by calling 600-2244 or emailing: dialogue.showroom@gmail.com.
