White links up with Northants

ENGLISH county Northamptonshire has signed former Australia Twenty20 captain Cameron White for this season’s Friends Life t20. The big-hitting 28-year-old is expected to be available for the entire tournament after losing his place in Australia’s limited overs teams.
White was replaced as Australia Twenty20 skipper in January after a poor run of form, highlighted by his average of just 7.85 during the Big Bash League in the winter. He has, however, enjoyed rich success in England’s Twenty20 tournament, smashing an unbeaten 141 – the fourth highest T20 score of all-time – while with Somerset in 2006.
“This is an important signing for Northants Cricket’s Friends Life t20 campaign, where Cameron will be able to add huge amounts of firepower to our middle order batting,” head coach David Capel said.
“Cameron comes to the County Ground with a proven track record, both internationally and domestically in the shorter forms of the game and he has the ability to find the boundaries, as seen by the fact he has scored t20 centuries.”
