PRELIMINARY inquiry into the Neesa Gopaul murder case continued yesterday with three new witnesses testifying against the victim’s mother, Bibi Gopaul, and her lover, Jarvis Small. Special Prosecutor, Ms. Prithima Kissoon called Justice of Peace Phillip Matthew, Police Constable Ryan Leacock and Police Photographer Lancelot Whittington to give evidence against the accused.
Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, who is conducting the proceedings, adjourned the matter to today.
Sixteen-year-old Neesa Gopaul’s body was found in the vicinity of Emerald Tower Resort, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, on October 2, 2010. Her disfigured corpse was stuffed in a large suitcase and dumped in the Madewini Creek.
