HITS and Jams (HJ) entertainment group has promised to update fans on the relative acts, events and activities every week leading up to the Easter Fest Weekend. This week, HJ is giving fans an inside look into the man who would be headlining the Easter Fest ‘Rozay Monday’ show. This rapper is supposedly very well known, but not as a philanthropist. To some he’s the ‘Teflon Don’, to others he’s the ‘Biggest Boss’, but a very fortunate faction of youths would opt to call him ‘Guardian Angel’.
This is the exact role William Roberts, professionally known as Rick Ross, plays in the lives of hundreds of youths every day.
In 2006, he founded the ‘Rick Ross Charities’ organization with a strong mission to “strengthen the lives of today’s at-risk youths from all backgrounds”. His foundation aims to provide solid resources through education advocacy, mentoring programmes, and financial resources to deserving students.
Many persons may not have predicted that this is the way this multi-award-winning rapper spends his off-time, but to Ross this is more than a hobby, it’s a passion.
Ross is a graduate of Miami Carol City High School. He was given the opportunity to attend Albany State University on a full athletic scholarship for football. He said this experience strengthened his confidence, adding truth to the credo ‘you can do anything you put your mind to’. His success is fuelled by his educational accomplishments, perseverance, and believing that his dreams could come true.
Now, Rick Ross, one of the best MCs in music and entertainment, serves his community by believing and encouraging the youth of today that nothing is out of reach.
Rick Ross is committed to having his charitable organization serve as a catalyst to inspire positive change by creating and supporting programmes that uplift the wellbeing of today’s youth. The charities provide community support through various programmes and projects, such as the annual Rick Ross Be out Day. This fun day was launched in 2007 to get children motivated about going back to school. The students receive complimentary backpacks, school supplies, and education advocacy from their favourite recording artists and local leaders, all while enjoying a fun day at the park.
Thanksgiving turkey giveaways, holiday gift giveaways, college scholarship funds, and financial donations to various schools and organizations are just a few of the activities the Rick Ross Charities undertake yearly. He earnestly believes that education is the foundation of all success.
