Obtaining by false pretence remains an offence

I REFER to the headline of the Kaieteur News of Wednesday 21st March, 2012 which states, “Inefficiency is not an offence – AG”. I agree totally with the Honourable Attorney General that inefficiency is not an offence. But certainly, obtaining by false pretences remains an offence under the criminal laws of Guyana.
The goodly Doctor held himself out to be capable of supervising the work and may have indeed represented that he conducted such supervision and obtained monies.
I am prepared to give legal advice to a police investigating team and to prosecute if an offence is disclosed.
I will do this without charging any fee – pro bono publico.
Again, it would be a matter for the Honourable Attorney General to determine whether “the inefficiency” amounts to a breach of contract.
The public monies must be recovered.
