Kaieteur News is becoming a national disgrace

ANY decent and self-respecting Guyanese ought to hang his head in shame when he/she looks at the front page headline of March 16 of the Kaieteur New: ‘Divided opposition approves Gov’t contentious $5B expenditure.’ It is a national disgrace for the Editor to publish such a headline. We all are aware of his rabid dislike and opposition for the PPP-led government. But it does him no good to sully his name and reputation further to publish what everybody knows is a total and absolute untruth. He had demeaned himself when, at page 3 of the newspaper (rather viewspaper), he reports that “even though each of APNU’s MP’s voted against the provision their 26 block vote was not enough to defeat the ruling party’s 32 votes”. What was the objection for the headline to represent the truth – “Govt defeats opposition move to block passing of financial paper.”
