LEON Singh, of Mon Repos, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore, at Sparendaam Court, yesterday, charged with larceny. It was alleged that, on February 4, at Lusignan, also on East Coast Demerara, he stole a goat worth $40,000, property of Mohini Mohammed.
He pleaded not guilty and was put on $25,000 until May 8.
The defendant and two others were previously charged, on February 27, with the theft of cows, goats and sheep, slaughtered at an illegal butcher shop at Mon Repos.
On that occasion, Singh was granted $95,000 bail.
