After students robbed…

Two suspects held, motorcar, motorcycle seized
POLICE are investigating robberies committed on two female students in separate incidents on Tuesday night.
Both of the victims were relieved of valuables but one was shot and wounded.
Police reported that, about 22:20 hrs, Sasha Gilhuys, 16, of Roxanne Burnham Gardens, was on Lamaha Street, also in Georgetown, awaiting transportation when she was confronted by three men on bicycles who demanded her cell phone.
She resisted the attack and one of the men, who was armed with a gun, shot her on the left shoulder, took away the phone and escaped.
She has since been admitted a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
In the other robbery, that occurred about 20:00 hrs the same night, Isha Jones, 19, of Fifth Street, Campbellville, was held at knifepoint by two men on Church Road, Subryanville, in the city, too, where they relieved her of $5,000 and a computer bag with which they fled.
However, quick response by a police mobile patrol led to the arrest of a suspect and subsequent investigations resulted in another being apprehended in Campbellville Housing Scheme.
Further enquiries prompted a search in Campbellville Housing Scheme, where a motorcar and a motorcycle suspected to have been used in the commission of crimes, were seized.
