…Adrian Dutchin crowned ‘king’ of Road march for the fourth time.
THE Olympia Small-Sonaram designed Digicel mash float has been adjudged the winner of the 2012 Mashramani costume competition, while Adrian Dutchin for the fourth time walked away with the road march title, with his single ‘I am a Guyanese’. Under the full costume (large category), Digicel Guyana copped the winning title with their designs which was all over white, and was titled ‘Reflection’ after a massive display by the revelers. This is the third year in succession that the telephone giant has taken the title.
Bank DIH came in second place, and Youth Coalition for Transformation (YCT) and the Ministry of Culture both third.
For the medium costume compeititon, the Agriculture Ministry walked away with first place, their band showcasing improved choices for persons through better food production.
The Tourism Ministry also in medium costume competition came second and the Local Government Ministry coped third with their design.
In first place under the small costume competition was the Education Ministry, the Public Service Ministry scored second place and RUSAL was adjudged the third place winner.
Digicel Guyana ‘The red Network’, in individual pieces walked away with the title, and their representative was crowned King, the Ministry of Education was awarded second place, and Ansa Mc AL was given third place.
The Queen for the individual pieces was given to the representative of Ansa McAL, second was given to Youth Coalition, and Banks DIH third.
Under the Male Individual Costume competition, Digicel Guyana was awarded first place, followed by Banks DIH with second, and, the Youth Coalition was given third.
Again the Digicel Olympia Small- Sonaram design grabbed the title in the female category of the individual costume competition, Banks DIH came second, and the Human Services and Social Security Ministry was named third place winners.
Under the Semi- Costume Competition, (Large category) the Youth Coalition for Transformation was given first place, Banks DIH was named second place winner, and Slingshot, the popular calypsonian, came third.
In the Medium Semi Costume competition, The Chinese Association came in first place and the Agriculture Ministry was awarded the second position, with the Ministry of Health third.
Float competition
In the float competition (Commercial) Banks DIH was adjudged the winner, and Don Gomes Optical was given second place.
The Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports (Non Commercial) came in first, Youth Coalition for Transformation came in second, and the Agriculture Ministry third.
The regional competitions, (Medium) saw Region 3 taking the title, Region 4 came second, and third place was given to Region 5.
In the same competition (Small), Region 6 was named winner and the Local Government was given second place.
Regional Individual Costumes saw the Region 4 representatives taking the title ‘King’, Region 3 came second and Region 5 third.
Region 4, still undefeated, saw its representative being crowned Queen of that segment of the competition, with Region 3 taking second place, and Region 6 third.
Additionally, taking second place in the road march was Vanilla, with her single ‘Rage’, and Tropical and Mystic was given third place with ‘Regardless’.
