Police charge three with Cummings Lodge pre-dawn robbery

POLICE have charged three men following investigations into the pre-dawn robbery at Cummings Lodge on February 20. Orlando Samuels, Quincy Bentinck and Ricardo April made their appearance at Sparendaam Court, also on East Coast Demerara, before Magistrate Alex Moore yesterday.
The joint charge, of robbery under arms, alleged that they robbed Mohammed Khan and his sons, Mohammed Shazam Khan and Mohammed Shaman Khan of US$17,240, G$140,000 and a bag containing clothes.
Police said the victims were about to depart their home for the interior where they, usually, conduct business when they were held at gunpoint.
The accused trio were refused bail and remanded to prison until March 12.
