THE Special Events Committee of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) will this weekend continue its 2012 coaching programme with the hosting of two clinics for spinners and batsmen at the Albion Community Centre. The spinners’ clinic would be held tomorrow, while the batsmen’s clinic would be held the following day with both clinics scheduled to start promptly at 09:00hrs.
Chairman of the Special Events Committee Hilbert Foster is asking all the selected players to be on time and properly attired in cricket uniforms for the clinics which would be conducted by coaches Julian Moore, Hubern Evans, Winston Smith and Michael Hyles Franco.
The clinics will be the final ones to be organised by the BCB, before the Junior Selection Committee, headed by Leslie Solomon, names a 40-man squad for the junior elite training programme which would be launched next month in preparation for upcoming Inter-county tournament.
The BCB previously held clinics for wicketkeepers, fast bowlers and coaching sessions in Blairmont, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower and Upper Corentyne and all have been successfully completed along with a one-day academy in West Berbice.
