Den Amstel, Grove Hi Tech secure wins in  latest matches
ANDRE Hector’s hat-trick propelled Den Amstel football club to another victory when  they defeated New Amsterdam United 3-2 in the Guyana Football Federation 2012 National Super League (GFFNSL)  preliminaries playoff, double-header, at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground yesterday afternoon. In the first match of the afternoon Grove Hi Tech secured their first win after trouncing Mill Ballers of Bartica 6-1.
It was Den Amstel’s second win in as many matches after defeating Mill Ballers of Bartica 2-1 last weekend in Bartica.
The first match saw the East Bank Demerara Football Association 2011 Coca Cola League  runners-up, Grove Hi Tech tearing apart an eleven man Mill Ballers side 6-1 with former national youth player Dominique Garnett scoring in the 34th, 41st, and 88th minute; Orson Francois  in the 48th and 85th  and  John Matthews completing the demolition  in the 74th minute
Shawn Garraway netted the lone goal for Mill Ballers in the 70th minute.
The feature match saw the leading goal scorer to date in the preliminaries, Andre Hector, demonstrating excellent striking technique netting three goals in the 16th, 67th and 77th minute. New Amsterdam United got goals from Dexroy Fernandes in the 41st minute and Adrian Adams in the 61st minute.
