DIGICEL Guyana yesterday promised a great show for their 5th anniversary celebrations at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, East Bank Demerara, featuring international artiste Keri Hilson, Morgan Heritage, I-Octane, Times X and local artistes, tonight at 21:00hrs. At a press conference yesterday at the Pegasus Essequibo Room, Georgetown, Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James said that their anniversary concert will be exciting, as the cellular phone company continues to give to its customers.
She encouraged persons to get their tickets early at $3000 for regular and $15,000 all inclusive of food and drinks and stage, where they will be much closer to the artistes; and with every ticket purchase you get $500 free credit.
James told the press briefing that the VIP section will have a premium bar and also lots of food, and upon entry, everyone will receive tokens, compliments of Digicel.
She said, “Make sure you come out and have a great time, be it rain or shine, the show will go on.”
Present yesterday were Keri Hilson, Luke Morgan of Morgan Heritage Band, I-Octane and of course local song birds Jomo Primo and Adrian Dutchin, and Digicel Head of Marketing Jacqueline James, and Public Relations Manager Shonnet Moore, along with Ansa McAl Brands Manager, Annetta Hinds.
In brief remarks, Hinds said that when Digicel asked Ansa McAl to come on board, they accepted the partnership and the company will be providing the drinks for the anniversary concert.
Meanwhile, Times X told the gathering that they will bring an exciting performance and will start off the concert with soca and other songs.
They said that their performance will be of ‘high energy’ and it will be a pleasure to perform with Keri Hilson and the others.
Luke Morgan of Morgan Heritage Band said that the rest of the group members are expected in the country early today, but due to the carnival season, they were delayed.
He added that last time they were here in Guyana their performance drew 35,000 people.
I-Octane, the reggae sensation, said that it is his first time in Guyana but nevertheless he likes the vibes here since he arrived, and he also likes the people and country and promises an exciting performance.
Shonnet Moore told the press conference that following Digicel’s 5th anniversary concert, they had asked customers who they wanted to see perform for the show, and they voted for Keri Hilson; and yesterday she was very excited to be in Guyana for the first time.
Although she is yet to get familiar with the local artistes and the country, she said that she will bring and ‘estrogen rich’ performance tonight.
Keri Hilson, a renowned songwriter and international artiste, when asked what she will say to bring out more men to the Digicel concert, she openly said that she is doing it for the ladies, though she urged men to come out.
