PAUL Hamilton, of Lot ‘T’ Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, was remanded to prison yesterday, on charges of illegal gun and ammunition possession. Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, the defendant pleaded not guilty to having a .32 pistol and seven live matching rounds, without licence, on February 11.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, said ranks on mobile patrol stopped the defendant who was riding a motor cycle and a search of his person yielded the firearm and bullets in his pants crotch.
Hamilton will make another court appearance on February 17.
