Defendant had gun, bullets in pants crotch

PAUL Hamilton, of Lot ‘T’ Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown, was remanded to prison yesterday, on charges of illegal gun and ammunition possession.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, the defendant pleaded not guilty to having a .32 pistol and seven live matching rounds, without licence, on February 11.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, said ranks on mobile patrol stopped the defendant who was riding a motor cycle and a search of his person yielded the firearm and bullets in his pants crotch.
Hamilton will make another court appearance on February 17.
