THE Diamond/Grove Lions Club, on the East Bank of Demerara, celebrated its first anniversary recently by erecting several stop signs in the area. In a collaborative effort with the Diamond/Grove Policing Group and the Diamond/Grove Road Safety Committee, six signs were posted from First Avenue to Sixth Avenue in the busy Diamond Housing Scheme.
Other activities to mark the milestone included a church service, a tree-planting exercise and a medical outreach, all in the beneficiary community.
The celebration culminated with a special dinner at the Lions Club Den at the Princess Hotel, Providence, East Bank Demerara, too.
