Buddy’s launches new housing project

…Green Acres, a gated community with shopping plaza and recreational facilities
BUDDY’S Housing Development yesterday officially launched its advertising campaign for a new housing project, Green Acres, on the East Bank of Demerara.
In a ceremony at the Buddy’s Mei Tung Restaurant, the Managing Director of the Buddy’s Complex, Ryan Shivraj , unveiled the plans and benefits  the project will offer, as he introduced the new face for the advertising campaign , Joel Gansham.
Buddy’s Housing Development has set a trend in developing communities across Guyana, and has, over the years, developed about five communities, with Green Acres, being the largest thus far.
According to Shivraj, the community will consist of 267 homes, complete with a shopping plaza, and a recreational facility consisting of a basketball court, a lawn tennis court and a swimming pool.
He explained, “It will be a self-contained community, nothing like which has been seen in Guyana before. As to the quality of the homes, we are trying to do something different so that we can elevate the lifestyle (of Guyanese).”
Shivraj pointed out that the aim of the initiative is to target middle-income families in an effort to make their dreams come true by providing homes which they will be able to customize.
The homes include three bedroom flat houses for $16M, two-storeyed three-bedroom houses for $25M, and two-storeyed four-bedroom houses for $26M.

Financing
Shivraj assured that the company will be working along with local financial institutions to make the process easier for potential home-owners.
“At least 70 – 80 percent of our customers will seek financing, so we will be working along with the local institutions. We are also flexible and we are ready to accept suggested payment plans to see how we can facilitate our customers,” he said.
Encouraging persons to take advantage of the opportunity Buddy’s is offering, Shivraj pointed to the ease at which ownership is possible and the state of readiness of the community.
He said, “All roads, light and water will be ready for you; it will be a self-serving community; by the end of next year it will be ready, but persons can buy now. At least 60 percent of homes have been sold already. “
Meanwhile, Gansham, the advertising representative, expressed his gratitude to the management of Development Company and assured that, as the campaign progresses, he will represent the company to the best of his ability.
He noted too that the television promotions will also be aired in West Indian communities outside of Guyana.
The Dream Home Sweepstake was also launched, and extends to everyone who would have purchased a home at Green Acres.
The prizes up for grabs include $1.5M, $500,000 and $ 250,000 in household items to assist in furnishing the homes.
The sweepstakes will get gping March 1 and the drawing will be held on September 6.
Green Acres is a gated community at Providence, behind the Guyana National Stadium, with paved roads and street lights.
