Fisherman robbed of ‘Timberland’boots, $40,000
FISHERMAN Mahendra Persaud was robbed of his boots and cash while awaiting transportation on the Corriverton Public Road, last Tuesday.
Also known as ‘Vicky’, the 26-year-old had left a wedding house wearing a pair of ‘Timberland’ footwear, valued $30,000 and had $40,000 on his person.
He said it was shortly after 23:30 hrs when an identifiable teenager pounced on him, dealt him a cuff on the face, pushed a hand into one of his pockets and relieved him of the cash.
Persaud said, although he had taken a few alcoholic drinks, he was fully aware of what had transpired and remembered falling before the robber pulled off his boots that he had saved money to buy.
Police are investigating the robbery.
