Miner remanded on break and enter charge

REGAN David deemed a flight risk by Police Prosecutor, Gordon Mansfield, was refused bail yesterday, when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
The remanded prisoner is charged with breaking and entering and larceny.
David, 20, of Jawalla, Upper Mazaruni, is alleged to have, on February 2, at Kamarang, also in the Essequibo Magisterial District, broken into the home of Ryan Simon and stolen nine pennyweights of raw gold and $54,000 cash, making a total loss of $189,000 to the virtual complainant.
David, a miner, has to be back in court on March 18.
