MINISTER of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee, told a press conference on Friday that approval has been given for the re-constitution of the Gaming Authority to oversee the casino of the Princess Hotel. He stated that the functions of the Gaming Authority are to issue license for the casino and monitor its operation.
The Gaming Authority is to be chaired by former Minister of Tourism, Manniram Prashad, with members including Oscar Phillips, former Minister of Labour Manzoor Nadir, and Indranauth Haralsingh of the Guyana Tourism Authority.
One more member is yet to be named.
