RAY Yokum was remanded to prison on a simple larceny charge yesterday, when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty.
Particulars of the offence said the defendant (no address given) stole one motorcycle, valued $475,000, property of Edward Barker, on January 21.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant parked his motorcycle and went into his workplace but a security guard on duty informed him that someone was looking at it.
The prosecutor said, when Barker ventured outside, the defendant went away but returned and was seen, also by the security guard, pushing the motor cycle away.
The prosecutor successfully caused bail to be refused Yokum, pointing out that the defendant has other similar cases pending.
Yokum will make his next Court appearance on January 31.
