THE annual Fruta Conquerors-organised Namilco football festival knockout competition is geared to commence at the end of this month with sixteen of Guyana’s top teams going head-to-head for the title and grand prize of one million dollars.
According to reports from the club, corporate support has begun to pour in from other entities such as Prudential Industrial Technologies (PIT) and Oasis Water, which has been on board with the club for many years.
A state-of-the-art water pressure system was sourced by the club from the company, which is located at Water and New Market Streets. It will be installed by the company free of cost at the Tucville Playfield in preparation for the Namilco Football Festival.
Meanwhile, CEO of PIT, Wayne Forde, who is also manager of Oasis Water, has also pledged the supply of water to teams in this year’s tournament.
Forde praised the club for its steady progression and its ability to retain sponsorship and support while continuing the Football Festival and developing the Tucville Community Ground at the same time.
He said that his companies are pleased to lend support to community development in this form.
Treasurer of the Club, Candida Shepherd, thanked Forde for his support to the club over the years and promised to ensure continued development, accountability and protection of the facilities on the ground with the help of executives, players, sponsors and members of the Tucville community.
