WARREN Lynch (no address given) has been charged with threatening behaviour and assault, before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. The defendant made his Court appearance yesterday and pleaded not guilty to both charges, which stated, that on December 26, he threatened and assaulted Cinette Gonsalves.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was at a Boxing Day function and she called Lynch to join her, but when he got there and saw Gonsalves in the company of a man, he became annoyed, broke a glass bottle and issued the threat to kill her.
The prosecutor said Gonsalves became fearful and was running away but fell and the defendant stood over her and cuffed her several times on her face until public-spirited citizens went to her rescue.
Lynch was placed on $35,000 bail and is to be back in Court on January 9.
