New school planned to relieve Tuschen overcrowding
THE Regional Administration in Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara) plans to build a new nursery school, early this year, to relieve the current overcrowding at the only primary school in Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo. Making the disclosure, Regional Chairman, Mr. Julius Faerber said the edifice to be constructed will accommodate between 60 and 75 children.
He explained to the Guyana Chronicle, on Wednesday, that the present structure houses primary and nursery children and the other to be built will cost approximately $9M.
Faerber said construction will begin once the Administration’s budget is approved by the Government.
He also told this newspaper that the school at Philadelphia, also on East Bank Essequibo, will be extended and repair works done to it.
Health centres and roads will also be upgraded, Faerber said.
