WHILE it is yet to be confirmed, Chronicle Sport was reliably informed of the setting up of an Interim Management Committee (IMC)) to oversee the day-to-day affairs of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday. According to reports reaching this medium, Cabinet mandated Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr Frank Anthony to oversee the setting up of the IMC, with same being done and to be headed by MCYS’ Permanent Secretary Alfred King.
When contacted for an official announcement, Dr Anthony said further pronouncement on the issue would be taken care of today.
Meanwhile, Chronicle Sport was reliably informed by an official within the GCB, of that body putting up a fight against the formation of an IMC, which can create serious problems for Guyana’s cricket in the future. Chronicle Sport will offer more on this issue in tomorrow’s publication.
