Several injured in two city road accidents

SEVERAL persons, among them three children and three adults, were rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) for medical attention yesterday, after a motorist who was, allegedly, being chased by police, slammed into the vehicle in which they were travelling. The driver of PJJ 9109, Joel Mahadeo was proceeding along Vlissengen Road towards Cemetery Road when the collision occurred, shattering the windshield and damaging the right side of his car.
Mahadeo told the Guyana Chronicle that an investigation is being carried out into an allegation that the owner of the motorcycle, CF 4586, Ferdinand Boyce was carrying an unlicensed firearm.
In another accident, cyclist Kenneth Singh, in his late twenties, is nursing injuries, not serious, to his left hand after he collided with motor car PKK 7385 on Hadfield Street.
