EX-SOLDIER Leon Hendricks (no address given) was granted $25,000 bail yesterday on an assault charge.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he pleaded not guilty to unlawfully assaulting Jasmine Thompson on November 19.
Prosecuting Police Sergeant, Lionel Harvey told the court the defendant saw the virtual complainant and wanted to talk to her but, when she refused to engage him in conversation, he pulled her by her hair and slapped her several times.
The case will be called, again, on January 10, 2012.
