A BRAZILIAN man was remanded to prison yesterday, on charges of conspiracy and uttering a forged document related to immigration.
Nassir Carisma (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell, charged with the indictable offences, one of which said, between October 4 and November 30, with intent to defraud, he conspired together with persons unknown to forge an extension of stay stamp, purporting to show that it was issued by the Central Immigration Office.
Particulars of the other charge said, on November 30, at Ogle International Airport, with intent to defraud, he uttered, to an immigration officer, a Republic of Brazil passport in favour of himself, with the forgery dated October 27, knowing it to be false.
The accused, who told the court he has been in Guyana for approximately two months, will make another appearance today.
