Four teams to contest EBFA/Coca Cola Senior League semis

THE inaugural East Bank Football Association/(EBFA) Banks DIH-sponsored Coca Cola Senior League has reached the semi-final stage following the conclusion of the group stage with the top four teams advancing. Timehri Panthers ended the group stage in pole position with 18 points followed by Banks FC on 13 points; Kuru Kururu Warriors accumulated 12 and Grove Hi Tec 10.
The four teams will face off in the semifinals this Sunday at the Diamond Community Centre ground from 13:00hrs when Banks will seek a place in the final as they come up against the rampaging Kuru Kururu Warriors.
Feature play brings together table-toppers Timehri Panthers and Grove Hi Tec in what is anticipated to be a keen battle. The respective winners will advance to the championship match.
In final round-robin matches, Kuru Kururu Warriors mauled Kuru Kuru Lions 8-2 while Diamond United in their debut season defeated old stagers Mocha Champs 3-1.
For the Warriors, the players hitting the network were Ryan Scott (11th, 24th, 49th) and Dexroy Adams (44th, 48th, 56th) who blasted a hat-trick each, Cordel Johnson netted the other two in the 74th and 76th minutes.
Pulling back two for the Lions were Simon Murtland (76th) and Kim Elliman three minutes to full time.
Diamond FC have shown that with more time and exposure they will be a force to be reckoned with in East Bank football.
The 3-1 win over Mocha Champs was designed by goals from Daniel Angoy (24), Hawley Cassou (35) and Marvin Blair (70).
Converting the consolation goal for Mocha was Eric Williams in the 67th minute
