JAVIER Wang (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on charges of unlawful assault and using abusive language.
He pleaded not guilty to both offences, particulars of which said, on November 14, he unlawfully assaulted Natalie Yard and abused her.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said, that day, the defendant and another person entered the virtual complainant’s yard and she became upset, as a result of which an argument ensued.
The prosecutor said the incident was reported and Yard told the police that Wang discharged a firearm in her direction but investigations were conducted and no gun or spent shells were recovered.
Wang was put on self bail for the abusive language charge and ordered to post $10,000 surety in the unlawful assault case, until November 21.
