REGION 3 (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara) joined the rest of the world in observing Remembrance Day 2011 on Sunday last. The observance began just after 08:00hrs at the War Memorial Site on Stelling Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, and Regional Chairman Julius Faerber took the march past at the Vreed-en-Hoop junction.
Several persons participated in the wreath- laying ceremony, including representatives from the regional administration, the Guyana Police Force, Guyana Sugar Corporation, Guyana Fire Service, the Education Department of Region 3, and the Best /Klien Pouderoyen Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC).
