Food vendor hid marijuana in buttocks
FOOD vendor Delon Anthony, who allegedly had cannabis (marijuana) hidden in his buttocks, appeared in court yesterday, charged with possession of the narcotic.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he pleaded not guilty to the charge, particulars of which said, on November 9, he had 11 ½ grammes of cannabis.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said ranks were conducting an exercise when they stopped and searched the defendant, in whose buttocks they found a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems of the plant.
Anthony was granted $50,000 bail and is expected to make another court appearance on January 4, 2012.
