…Nagamootoo no longer popular in his village
THOUSANDS turned out for the People’s Progressive Party/Civic rally at Whim, Region Six (East Berbice/ Corentyne), last evening, where ex-party member Moses Nagamootoo’s standing in the community was demolished. Those in attendance chanted slogans like ‘No place for Naga’ and ‘Naga is a disgrace to Whim’, and President Bharrat Jagdeo, who expressed appreciation for the support, stressed that “Your support is at the root of everything; the party’s record in keeping faith with the people has yielded results.”
PPP/C Presidential Candidate Donald Ramotar, urging Guyanese to vote solidly and allow progress to continue, made it clear that the incumbent party is not ‘screwing’ the sugar workers, as was claimed by Nagamootoo at an Alliance for Change (AFC) rally in Canje.
Other speakers included Minister Clement Rohee and other community leaders.
