FOLLOWING a community outreach in Uitvlugt, two months ago, a commitment was made to the Uitvlugt Side-Line Dam women’s group by the PPP/C government to work with the women of that community to assist them with some equipment for the group, so that they can execute projects in sewing, catering and cake decorating.
In response to this, Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Jennifer Webster, yesterday presented two sewing machines to the group which is part of the group’s request to the minister. Minister Webster noted that the other items, which include fabric, thread, baking pans and cake decorating utensils, will be delivered shortly.
She emphasised that the provided items will aid the group to contribute to the community’s development and will also see them training young women the skills they have learnt.
Secretary, Uitvlugt Side-Line Dam Women’s group, Dropatie Deonarine expressed appreciation on behalf of the group for the items presented by the minister.  (GINA)
