STACIE Barry (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Thursday, charged with receiving stolen property.
The charge alleged that, between October 16 and 18, she received a laptop and a bag among other articles, property of Jovanna Williams, knowing them to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the home of the virtual complainant was broken into and the booty stolen and, a few days after the burglary, Barry contacted a computer technician, seeking to have the laptop repaired.
The prosecutor said the technician used to maintain the laptop and, on recognising it, contacted the owner.
Barry was put on $100,000 bail until October 24.
