EXECUTIVE Member of ‘A Partnership for National Unity’ (APNU), Dr. Rupert Roopnarine told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday, it is likely that information pertaining to the party’s Prime Ministerial Candidate will be released today.
He made the disclosure to this newspaper, via telephone, following a press conference at APNU Campaign Headquarters on Regent Street, Georgetown, where he announced that a leadership council meeting was fixed for last night, during which decisions on the team were expected.
“We waited with bated breath for the announcement of the PPP’s (People’s Progressive Party) Prime Ministerial Candidate,” he remarked about the revelation, about Mr. Samuel Hinds, that was made Sunday in Linden.
Roopnarine told the Chronicle, he certainly did not mind sharing information from the meeting last night but it was likely to end very late.
He assured though, that, by today, it would be made known to the public.
APNU had planned to announce its leadership team for the upcoming elections during its launching in July but that was pushed back as the political movement grappled with other internal issues.
