Another Lindener admitted to the Bar

JUSTICE Dawn Gregory yesterday admitted to the Bar Miss La-Vanna Bouyea, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden, adding to the number of lawyers from Linden to be graduated from the Hugh Wooding Law School this year. The new lawyer was complimented by the judge who noted that she was a hard worker who had benefitted from the sacrifices and efforts of her parents and well-wishers.
The judge expressed the wish that the new advent would keep on improving and increasing her academic skill as she practises her profession.
Miss Bouyea’s petition for admission to the Bar was presented by Attorney-at-Law Mr. Nigel Hughes.
Mr. Hughes referred to the academic achievements of the young lawyer and wished her success at the Bar.
In her reply, Attorney-at-law Bouyea thanked the judge for admitting her and for giving her admirable advice.
She added, “I intend to take these words in good stride and to apply them as benchmarks as I embark upon my legal career.
“I am however conscious that the journey has only now begun, but this juncture in my life is surely one that is worth mention and acknowledgement. I must therefore give credit where credit is due.
“My achievement could not have been possible without the loving grace and mercy of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To my mother and father, I say thank you. You have both been there for me in every possible way, and I therefore call on you this morning to share in this moment of joy with me.
“I will strive to keep the high standards of this noble profession and to execute my duties and obligations as an officer of the court”.
