Accused in gold fraud case on $200,000 bail

DEVON McKenzie (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell yesterday on a fraudulent conversion charge.
The accused was not required to plead to the indictable offence, particulars of which said, last July 23, 2010, being solely entrusted with $800,000 by Navin Singh to purchase gold and return it to him, he fraudulently converted the money to his own use and benefit.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, requested substantial bail and it was fixed at $200,000 until October 31.
