Thanks for work on Le Repentir

I wish to commend the Works Ministry for stepping in and, in the process, restoring some measure of decency to the Le Repentir cemetery. The place is looking much better, thanks to the intervention of Minister Robeson Benn. I understand that the cemetery would be handed over to the Mayor and City Council for continuous maintenance after the exercise is concluded.

I hope that the good work done by Minister Benn would be sustained and improved upon by the Council. It is a shame that this cemetery had been neglected for so long by the Council, especially given the fact that it is the largest in Guyana and where the remains of so many prominent Guyanese reside. Moreover, it is located in the capital city where thousands of locals and foreigners pass through on a daily basis.
