THE Guyana Justices of the Peace and Commissioners of Oaths to Affidavits Association of Guyana will be holding a Peace Rally on September 25, 2011 at the Maha Sabha Kalayan Certre, 163-163 Lamaha Street North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, to mark the International day of Peace which is observed on the 21st September annually. Since September 21, 2011 is a working Day, a decision was taken that this event be shifted to Sunday September 25, 2011
The purpose of this event is to foster social cohesion, advocate non-violent behaviour, respect for each other and promote community peace building.
Our programme which will commence at15:30hrs will include four guest speakers, peace songs, dances and the release of 500 balloons. We are offering the opportunity to come and be part of this historic event and release one or more balloons as the symbolic commitment to peace.
In this regard and in order to make this event a success, with all humility, The Guyana Justices of the Peace and Commissioners of Oaths Association requests the participation of the general Public so that the International day of Peace 2011 is specially observed in Guyana. This is the second year the JP Association is observing this event. There are no charges for participation.
