THE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport’s ‘Day of Interaction’ in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) is expected to be much bigger this year. Director of Sports, Mr. Neil Kumar told several Government officials, at a planning meeting in the region yesterday that the ministry plans to gather young people from every area to participate in the activities at Anna Regina Community Centre Ground, on Essequibo Coast.
He said the programme will begin with a big, colourful march past, in which he called on participants to dress in different colours under their respective banners.
Kumar said Berbice has set a high standard and he wants Essequibo to do better.
The Day of Interaction will include disciplines such as football, softball, cricket, dominoes, basketball, volleyball, circle tennis, boxing, chess, athletics and cycling.
The non-alcoholic event will be staged on November 6.
