Charlestown surrender to Conquerors 4-0

THE Fruta Conquerors conquered their opponents Charlestown United when the two teams battled on Friday night at the Tucville Playfield as another triple-header was contested in the Milo Under-23 Football Competition.
Conquerors inflicted a 4-0 beating on the opposition in the second match of the triple-header while Northern Rangers and Guyana Defence Force battled to a 1-1 draw in the curtain-raiser, and surprisingly, Sunburst Camptown failed to show up, giving Georgetown Football Club (GFC) a victory by walkover.

Action continues today as University of Guyana are scheduled to do battle with Santos from 16:00hrs then Guyana Police Force face Conquerors in the second match at 18:00hrs while Riddim Squad will oppose Flamingo in the feature match at 20:00hrs.
On Friday night, Conquerors and Charlestown United battled to a goalless first half then the second half was completely different from the first, with Trevon Lycott netting a hat-trick. He scored in the 49th, 59th and 65th minutes while receiving support from Pernel Schultz who scored in the 53rd minute.
In the Northern Rangers/GDF match, Rangers drew first blood in the 20th minute through a Jowal Jummont strike which had the latter down by one when the second half commenced.
However, former Conquerors player and GDF captain Paul Bobb equalised in the 40th minute to end the match and share points.
