Resulting from the Valerie Garrido-Lowe, United Force restraining order forbidding Manzoor Nadir from holding out himself as United Force Leader or Presidential Candidate , the defendant sought to have the injunction discharged because of serious non-disclosures to the Court.
After the matter was made inter-partes, Mr. Robin Stoby, S.C., for defendant Nadir, moved a motion to have the injunctive order against Manzoor Nadir and Ismail Muhamad discharged on the ground that there was no quorum in the Executive Committee , which allegedly made the order to oust Nadir from the leadership post.
At the end of yesterday’s session, Justice James Bovell-Drakes, who made the injunctive order, after studying the ex-parte application by the alleged new leader, Garrido-Lowe, heard arguments from both sides after which he sought authorities from Nadir in support of his argument.
The original injunction restrained the defendants by themselves and each and every one of them, by their servants, agents or workers or otherwise, whomsoever and howsoever, from interfering with the plaintiff’s occupation of the head office of the United Force at 95, Robb Street and Shiv Chanderpaul Drive , Georgetown, in her capacity as the duly elected Leader, Presidential Candidate, and Executive Member of the United Force.
Lawyers representing the plaintiff were Mr. Fitz Peters, Mrs. Abiola Wong-Inniss, and Mr. Christopher Ram.
Mr. Nadir is being represented by Senior Counsel, Mr. Robin Stoby.
