Milo Under-23 football action continues today

MORE action in the Fruta Conquerors-organised Milo Under-23 football tournament continues today with another triple-header at the Tucville Playfield with the first match set to kick off at 17:00hrs.
In the first match Flamingo go head-to-head with Northern Rangers then Fruta Conquerors clash with University of Guyana at 19:00hrs and in the feature showdown the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) meet Georgetown Football Club (GFC) at 21:00hrs.

The University of Guyana team surrendered two consecutive walkovers in earlier scheduled matches, one of which was on Sunday when they failed to show up for their match against Charlestown United.
In Sunday’s action Sunburst Camptown suffered defeat at the hands of Riddim Squad who won 2–1 in the second match while the Fruta Conquerors/Beacon United match ended with a battling 1-1 draw.
In feature match Fruta Conquerors side played terrific football for the entire first half as they controlled the opposition with resolute defending, accurate passing and strong plays towards goal while Beacon stood firm against the attacks.
Darrel Fraser drew first blood for Conquerors in the 14th minute, moments before the game was halted because of indiscipline displayed by a Conquerors player who was ejected from the game.
The match resumed then concluded with Conquerors ahead by a goal but in the second half Beacon United’s Michael Stuart equalised in the 66th minute and the match remained that way until the regulation time whistle.
In other results, goals from Riddim Squad’s Amos Ramsay and Michele Charles in the 26th and 55th minutes overshadowed Camptown’s lone goal scored by Darrel Fraser in the 30th minute.
