Visiting Suriname church members allege overcharging by speedboats

THE Voice of Faith Miracle Ministries is calling on the executive of the Speedboat Owners Association to launch an investigation into why twenty-four visiting members from Nickerie and Apura in Suriname were compelled to pay $1,500 each to travel from Parika to Supenaam on Augsut 19 and 20. The visitors did not know the fare and were charged $1,500 instead of $1,300.
Some even had to pay $2,000 before they learnt that they were overcharged and it left a bad impression on their minds about the honesty of the Parika-Supenaam speedboat operators.
Local church members said the overpayment should never have happened because our country is trying to promote tourism and services offered to the public should be of a high standard and in honesty, a release said.
