Region 6 residents grateful to Ministry of Housing and Water

MY family and I have been living in the Port Mourant community for the past 20 years and we have never seen the kind of improvements in the region that we are now witnessing. I remember when I was a little and going to school and we had to walk through muddy streets to get to where we were going, whether, it was school or out to church or simply to the market.
Today, I have lived to witness a community where things are much easier through the many improvements made possible by this PPP/C government. We have improved streets, which are going to get even better, improved schools for our children and the small business people no longer have to sell on the road ways, we now have a proper market area which is much safer for us.
I want to say thank you to this government for all that is being done not only for this community but all across Region 6.

The Corentyne Highway now has street lights so that we can see where we are going, this is a great thing as you know we have a lot of cows and other animals on the roads that cause accidents, especially at nights. For this I say ‘thank you’.
I know too, that many areas across our region are now getting water that is treated. Some areas that had a problem with water pressure before can no longer complain of this, and for this I want to also say ‘thank you’.

Mr. Editor, I also want to say a big ‘thank you’ on behalf of the thousands of families that now have a place to live and to call their own because the Ministry of Housing gave them house lots to build on. Thank you to the PPP/C for not forgetting its promises to us and for making us feel like we are a part of this country even though we are so far away.
