TWO high production portable water drills, capable of digging at a depth of 2,500 feet, are among 52 pieces of equipment which were off-loaded Wednesday at Guyana National Industrial Corporation wharf and destined for BK International Inc. The shipment, purchased at an auction in Texas, is worth approximately US$2.5M, and is being made at a time when BK International, a vertically integrated company, is continually attempting to diversify its operations in new areas of investment.

The shipment is also timely, as 80 per cent of the equipment will be used by the company on a road construction project to be executed from the Timehri Police Station to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
The US$1.62M project entails widening the existing two lane roadway to a four-lane roadway.
The remaining equipment will be used at BK Quarries Inc. at Teperu/Itabu, Mazaruni River, where further expansion and development plans are on the cards.
