Fugitive shot by police

POLICE shot and injured Dwayne Critchlow who shot at them as they attempted to arrest him on Friday. He was wanted for questioning in a shooting incident. At about 11:00 hours on Friday last members of a mobile police patrol at Vigilance, East Coast Demerara, saw Critchlow, 28, of North Vigilance, East Coast Demerara, who was wanted for questioning involving an incident in May this year where he was armed with a firearm and threatened a policeman at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.
On seeing the police patrol, Dwayne Critchlow began to run and was pursued by the police during which he pulled out a firearm and discharged rounds at the ranks who returned fire.
He was later found in a house at Friendship North, ECD, with a suspected gunshot injury to his left arm and has been admitted a patient under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
